The basics

What is a senior day center?

Structured daytime care outside the home on weekdays, 9:30 AM–4:30 PM: supervised activities, meals, health monitoring, friendship and help with personal care. Seniors keep living at home.

Who is Brighter Days for?

Adults 55 and older, mostly 65 and older, who need daytime supervision, company or professional care. This includes normal aging, Alzheimer's, dementia, Parkinson's, other conditions, and seniors who are isolated or not safe alone.

What are your hours?

Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM–4:30 PM.

What does a typical day look like?

Arrival and welcome, group social time, structured activities (music, crafts, games, reminiscence), chair yoga or light exercise, a hot noon meal, afternoon activities and a snack, then departure when the center closes at 4:30 PM. Families can arrange their own transportation or ask us about ride options.

How is Brighter Days different from a senior center?

Senior centers, like the Provo Senior Center, offer drop-in social programs for independent seniors. Brighter Days gives supervised, structured care: personal care, medication reminders and meals. Optional transportation is being planned.

Care

Do you accept seniors with Alzheimer's or dementia?

Yes. We support people from mild memory concerns to moderate dementia, with structured activities, steady routines and experienced staff. About our Alzheimer's care.

Can my parent come just a few days a week?

Yes. Many families start with two or three days a week. There is no minimum, and the schedule fits your family.

What if my parent doesn't want to go?

This is a common worry. Start with a tour, then a trial day. Most people settle in quickly, and our staff welcome new people with patience.

Do you provide transportation?

We’re planning optional transportation for families who need it, rather than including rides in everyone’s daily fee. Ride availability, service areas, scheduling, and any additional fees are still being finalized. Please contact us to discuss your needs.

Cost

How much does it cost?

Private pay is $60–$85 a day on a sliding scale by family income. We accept Utah's Aging, New Choices and Physical Disabilities Medicaid waivers, and grants help eligible families.

Does Medicare cover senior day center?

Traditional Medicare (Parts A and B) does not. Utah Medicaid waivers do, for eligible seniors. Some Medicare Advantage plans may have limited benefits. Read our Medicaid guide.
